U.S. Shipping Partners L.P. is an active participant in the U.S. Flag Jones Act coastwise tanker trades for refined petroleum products and chemical parcels. We operate four Integrated Tug Barges (ITB) which carry petroleum products, and three parcel tankers which haul mainly chemicals, one product tanker, and four Articulted Tug Barges (ATB). We recently added a Fourth ATB, the Corpus Christi/Petrochem Trader to our ever growing fleet. Our company employs approximately 40 shore staff and approximately  400 fleet personnel.

We serve large oil refiners and chemical producers, under a mix of time charters, contracts of affreightment, and spot moves. Our product tanker and four ITB's transport mainly clean refined petroleum products such as gasoline, heating oil, diesel fuel, jet fuel and lubricants. The major trade routes for these vessels are West Coast (serving refineries and terminals in the Pacific Northwest and California), East Coast (typically loading at refineries in Texas or Louisiana for discharge at U.S. Atlantic ports, and trans-Panama Canal (balancing the US Gulf and West Coast).

Our parcel tankers carry specialty refined petroleum, petrochemical and commodity chemical products, mainly on runs from the Gulf of Mexico to industrial users in and around East Coast ports. Products transported by the parcel vessels consist mostly of paraxylene, caustic soda, alcohol, chlorinated solvents, toluene and ethelyne glycol. The lot sizes of cargo transported on the parcel tankers are smaller than on the ITBs.
